Refund Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-11

Caika provides digital subscriptions, usage credits, and AI-generated services that are generally non-refundable once purchased, allocated, or used. This policy explains the limited circumstances in which a payment may be reviewed and distinguishes monetary refunds from automatic restoration of eligible credits.

1. General No-Refund Policy

Except where applicable law requires otherwise or Caika expressly approves an exception under this policy, purchases are final and non-refundable. This includes subscription charges, renewals, annual-plan charges, credit packs, consumed credits, unused account balances, plan upgrades, prorated upgrade charges, and dissatisfaction with a generated result.

AI output is inherently variable. A result that is technically delivered but does not match a user's subjective expectations, preferred style, or intended use is not a service non-delivery and does not ordinarily qualify for a refund.

2. Limited Exceptional Review

Caika may review a monetary refund request in narrowly defined exceptional circumstances. Approval is not automatic and depends on payment records, service logs, credit usage, information supplied by the requester, and applicable law.

  • A verified duplicate charge for the same purchase.
  • A verified service non-delivery caused by Caika where the purchased entitlement was not provided and the issue was not otherwise corrected through eligible credit restoration.
  • An unauthorized payment reported promptly by the account holder or payment-method owner, subject to identity and payment verification.
  • A refund or withdrawal right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the consumer law applicable to the transaction.

3. Digital Credits and Exclusions

Credits are limited, non-transferable service entitlements. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed or exchanged for money, and may be subject to the validity and expiration rules displayed for the relevant plan or credit source. Subscription credits generally do not roll over beyond their applicable allocation period, while other credit types may have different rules.

Used, transferred, expired, promotional, signup, contribution, bonus, or otherwise free credits are not refundable. Purchasing more capacity than needed, failing to use credits, forgetting to cancel, account inactivity, loss of access caused by a Terms violation, or a later price or feature change does not ordinarily create a refund right.

4. Failed Generations and Credit Restoration

When a generation fails before qualifying output is delivered, Caika's systems may release or restore only the credits that were held for that job and remain eligible, valid, and not previously reversed. This operational credit adjustment is not a monetary refund and does not create a right to withdraw funds.

Credits may not be restored when output was delivered, the request violated service rules, the same held credits were already released or reversed, the credits are no longer valid under their original terms, or failure resulted from circumstances for which restoration is not supported. If an eligible restoration does not occur, contact support with the generation or task identifier.

5. Subscription Cancellation

Cancel a subscription before its next renewal through the available billing controls or by contacting support@caika.app. A normal cancellation stops future renewal and takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period; it does not refund the current period or reverse prior charges.

Deleting an account does not automatically cancel a subscription handled through Creem. Cancel the subscription first and retain confirmation before requesting account deletion. Caika is not responsible for a renewal caused by deleting or abandoning an account without completing subscription cancellation.

6. Annual Billing, Plan Changes, and Proration

Annual subscriptions are charged for the annual term even when included credits are allocated monthly. Cancellation during an annual term normally prevents the next annual renewal but does not generate a partial or prorated refund for remaining time or future monthly credit allocations.

Upgrades and changes from monthly to annual billing may take effect immediately and may create an immediate or prorated charge. Downgrades and changes from annual to monthly billing generally take effect at the end of the current billing period. Charges arising from a confirmed plan change are ordinarily non-refundable unless an exceptional-review ground or mandatory law applies.

7. Unauthorized Payments and Payment Disputes

Report a suspected unauthorized charge promptly to support@caika.app and secure the affected account and payment method. Caika or Creem may request information needed to confirm account ownership, payment ownership, and transaction details. A claim may be denied when records show the transaction was authorized by the account holder or an authorized user.

Before initiating a chargeback, contact Caika so the transaction can be investigated. A chargeback or payment reversal may cause related credits to be removed, a current subscription or paid entitlement to be terminated, and the account to be restricted while the dispute is reviewed. Fraudulent or abusive disputes may result in account termination or recovery of amounts lawfully owed.

8. How to Request Review

Email support@caika.app as soon as reasonably possible with the subject line "Refund Review." Requests must include enough information to identify and evaluate the transaction. We generally aim to respond within three business days, although complex payment or fraud reviews may take longer.

  • The account email address and purchaser's name.
  • The Creem order, invoice, subscription, or transaction identifier, if available.
  • The payment date, amount, currency, and product or plan purchased.
  • A clear explanation of the exceptional ground claimed and any supporting evidence.
  • Relevant generation or task identifiers when the request concerns service non-delivery.

9. Processing and Effects of an Approved Refund

Approved monetary refunds are processed through Creem to the original payment method when available. Bank, card-network, currency-conversion, and payment-provider processing times are outside Caika's control. Caika does not promise that unrelated processing, conversion, or banking fees will be returned.

A refund or payment reversal may revoke unused credits, reverse related entitlements, cancel or terminate the associated subscription, and prevent further use of the refunded purchase. Caika may deduct or deny a requested amount to the extent an entitlement has already been consumed, unless applicable law requires a different result.

10. Mandatory Law and Abuse

Nothing in this policy limits non-waivable rights under applicable law. Where a mandatory consumer right conflicts with this policy, that law controls only to the extent required. No voluntary cooling-off period or general 14-day refund promise is offered unless the transaction is legally subject to such a right.

Caika may reject requests containing false information, repeated attempts to obtain both service value and a refund, manipulation of credit restoration, or other abuse. Policy exceptions granted in one case do not create an obligation to grant the same exception in another case.
